E-mail is an essential communication tool for business and personal correspondence. In this workshop you will learn the basic features of an e-mail program, how to create an e-mail account, create and send a message, receive and reply to a message, manage e-mail folders, forward a message, send a message with an attachment, and use good email practices.

(Prerequisite: Ability to use a mouse and keyboard) Windows is the system software that helps the computer carry out its basic operating tasks and manages the complete operation of your computer. Learn how to use the graphical user-interface, pointing device, start a program, move and resize windows, use menus, toolbars, keyboard shortcuts, dialog boxes , scroll bars and windows help.
Registration begins Mon., April 22, 2013 Provides information on how to organize your files and folders on your computer for quick access and easy retrieval. To keep your computer files organized, you will need to copy, move and rename them. It is also good idea to delete files you no longer need.

Are you making the best use of your Internet connection? Haven't quite got round to customizing it? Would you like to be more effective when searching for information, finding the best website, avoiding viruses, etc.?
This hands-on workshop will give you many tips and techniques for improving your total web experience.
· create a new starting page that reflects your personal interests
· save your favorite websites for easy access and organize them into handy folders on your computer
· learn how to protect yourself from viruses, spyware, and unwanted pop-ups
· search for anything (and find it) using advanced features of search engines
· and much more: creating tabs, email basics, useful websites, etc.
Demonstrates how to access and download digital books from the Library’s Collection to your specific device.
Learn how to utilize the Internet in today’s job market, how to create a user name and password, fill-out an online job application form, create an online profile, update resume/cover letter and use keywords to get the job you want.
Registration for all classes is required.
Our classes are extremely popular and are repeated throughout the year. If a class is full, please be patient. It will be offered again.
Registration begins one week prior to each workshop. To register: Please call the Library, one week prior to each workshop between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at (845) 352-5700, ext. 294; or, stop by the RHF Technology Center on the 3rd floor.
Important: Early registration, voicemail, and email registration are not accepted!
If you have registered for a workshop, please arrive on time. If you are late, you will be considered a "no-show" and your place will be given to someone else.There will be NO exceptions!
These are one session workshops; class size is limited to 12 people.
Please note that the RHF Technology Center is unavailable to patrons when workshops are in session.
