The African American Historical Society of Rockland County and the National Endowment of the Humanities in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, Rockland Community College and the Finkelstein Memorial Library present free screenings of the critically acclaimed PBS documentary, "The Abolitionists."
The film tells the story of the freedom fighters like Angelina Grimke, William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Beecher Stowe, John Brown, Harriet Tubman, and others who dedicated their lives to eradicating slavery and making America truly become the land of the free.
