English as a Second Language Classes for Haitians In collaboration with the Literacy Volunteers of Rockland County, Finkelstein Memorial Library offers ESL classes for adults. During this summer of 2007, two concurrent beginning ESL classes for Haitians are offered. Topics are U.S. Civics for Immigrants. Registration and testing for placement into these classes are completed but individuals who are interested are welcome to sit-in. These classes are currently scheduled to end in September but may be extended through the fall. Other ESL Classes Literacy Volunteers of Rockland County and this library continue their collaborative efforts to put together more ESL classes. Anticipated upcoming classes include, ESL for Haitian seniors of the French Speaking Baptist Church of Spring Valley, Conversational English classes for those who score too high for beginning ESL classes, ESL classes for Hispanics to start in the fall. Beyond the above-mentioned, no limit is set for this collaborative effort. Additional ESL classes will be offered and provided through reasonable requests, to the extents budgets, available room for classes and other resources allow. Current Applicants, please note:
