Rabbi Abraham J. Twerski, M.D. noted rabbi, psychiatrist and author spoke at Finkelstein Memorial Library on Sunday, June 24th 2012. His topic was “Where to Search for Happiness.” Over 250 people attended this special event. The library wishes to express its thanks to Rabbi Twerski for his uplifting and thought-provoking presentation on the misconceptions of happiness in today's society.
A book signing followed the event. Rabbi Twerski is the author of over sixty books. His medical career includes Gateway Rehabilitation Center, Pittsburgh, which he founded and serves as medical director emeritus, clinical director of the Department of Psychiatry at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine, and founder of the Shaar Hatikvah Rehabilitation Center for prisoners in Israel.
Rabbi Twerski has been a guest on many television and radio programs and featured in hundreds of magazines, newspapers and publications worldwide. Among his many books are Living Each Day, daily inspirational messages, Twerski on Prayer, Lights Along the Way, a commentary on Mesilas Yesharim (Path of the Just), Angels Don't Leave Footprints, Life's Too Short, Ten Steps to Being Your Best on issues of self-esteem, and Getting Up When You're Down on depression and related conditions.
