Tax Assistance at the Library
This year the Library is again serving as a site for AARP Tax-Aide. Volunteer
tax preparers will be available to assist in the preparation of state
and federal tax returns on:
Mondays and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm through APRIL 14 in the Library's
Fielding Room on the third floor.
What
to bring:
Bring these documents with you when you go for help filing your taxes:
• Copies of last year's federal and state tax returns.
• W-2 forms (wage and earning statements from your employer showing
the income you earned).
• All 1099 forms (showing pension, Social Security, interest and
dividends received).
• Receipts and canceled checks for income and property taxes paid,
and for charitable contributions.
• Each dependent's Social Security card.
• Any other information affecting your taxes.
This service
is provided through the Rockland County Office for the Aging, 364-2110.

FORMS AT THE LIBRARY
The
Library now has printed copies of the most popular tax forms from the
IRS and New York State. These forms are found on the third floor of the
Library.
