Every citizen 18 years or older residing within the East Ramapo Central School District for at least 30 days prior to voting, who is legally registered, is eligible to vote. Anyone who is already registered for general elections in November is eligible to vote in library elections. A separate registration is no longer required. You must vote at least once every four years in a general election to keep your registration valid. The Library, located at 24 Chestnut Street and Route 59 in Spring Valley, is wheelchair accessible. Absentee ballots have been prepared and mailed to those people who previously submitted an application and are eligible to receive an absentee ballot, as well as those who are on the permanently disabled list of voters as prepared by the board of elections. Thereafter, absentee ballots will be mailed to voters as applications are received and approved. An application for an absentee ballot must be received seven (7) days before the election, if it is to be mailed, or the day before, if the ballot is to be delivered personally. An absentee ballot must be received no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the vote: June 4, 2019.
